CELEBRATING THE GOLDEN JUBILEE: CLASS OF 74

Solar Security Lights Donated By The CHS Alumni ''74 Set During Their 50 Years Re-Union

The great rejoicing on the fiftieth anniversary of any event is called Golden Jubilee. Our Daddies, Mummies, Uncles, and Aunties proudly marked their fifty years of glorious exit from our alma mater, Christ High School, Oleyo Ibadan. These 1974 graduates, both home and in the diaspora pooled their resources together to make the celebration a glorious success. The celebration was arranged as a three-day event with unbounded joy from Friday 15th November to Sunday 17th November 2024.

These elders believed such an event as the Golden Jubilee deserved to have a proper memorial. On Friday, 15th November, at the CHS premises, one of the glorious members, Ambassador Seyi Onafowokan, extended his humanitarian hands by off-setting the 2025 WAEC registration fees of ten indigent students. This will be his second time in the year that such a kind gesture will be repeated; the first being during the windstorms that destroyed the roofs of the block of six classrooms in May 2024.

The second day of this memorable celebration was the get-together feast held at Richbam Events Centre in Ibadan, where all alumni were entertained and went home with lots of souvenirs.

The celebration was rounded up on 17th November, the AGM day, with the unveiling of eight pieces of IP65 waterproof Solar led lamps, which have already been installed as a way of paying back to the alma mater. Some representatives of the Golden Class Set graced the AGM with their presence. Notable among them were: Professor Gbemi Onakoya, who presented the lamps, Mr Edward Koyejo (the Cicero), Chief Mrs Ebun Alabi, Baale (Pastor) Funmi Mike Oduwole, Mr Gboyega Oyesiku, amongst others.

Congratulations!

Thank you all for giving back to our Alma mater, this is indeed a great achievement and a form of inspiration to us all that are also a product of CHS. We look forward to emulate your steps and give back to our alma mater also

  2. I am more than excited to see this great news, ’74 set? Wow!!! It’s indeed a milestone worth celebrating. We only hoped that the younger generation of CHS would be carried along as well. We love you our dear parents, Uncles and Aunties too, God keep bleeding you and keep you strong. Amen.
